Moving Linton
Forward

For Mayor of Linton, Indiana

Linton doesn’t have to settle. Linton can boom again. New businesses. More events. Safer streets. Stronger parks. And a working mayor who shows up, listens, and gets it done.

The Campaign

Forward Isn’t a Slogan. It’s a Direction.

This campaign is built on one simple idea: Linton’s best days are still ahead of us, and it’s time to go get them.

Moving Linton forward means backing our people, our businesses, our schools, our hospital, our police officers, our firefighters, our city workers, our families, our young people, our seniors, and our downtown. It means bringing people to town, filling our shops and restaurants, creating jobs, and making Linton feel alive with opportunity again.

That includes the city workers who keep Linton running every day. I want to work hand in hand with them, supporting them and making sure they have what they need to do the job right.

Belief matters. But belief alone doesn’t fix a street, win a grant, or fill a storefront. That takes action, communication, and work.

— Jake ThatcherCandidate for Mayor

“Linton shouldn’t just survive. Linton should grow.”

Action

Grants pursued, projects tracked, problems fixed before they become emergencies.

Communication

Regular updates from the mayor’s office. You shouldn’t have to chase information about your own city.

Work

A mayor who is present, active, involved, and accountable, every single day.

Meet Jake

A Neighbor. A Builder. A Working Mayor.

Jake and his wife, Amanda, have called Linton home for more than 20 years, and his family’s roots in this corner of Indiana go back generations. He is a local business owner, entrepreneur, and technology leader who believes Linton has the people, the pride, and the potential to grow into something stronger.

Jake earned his degree in Management Information Systems from Indiana State University’s Scott College of Business and built his career in technology and information security, including work supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center. He founded Node 1 Technology here in Linton and grew it into the Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year before selling the company. Today he builds businesses focused on artificial intelligence, and he has put that experience to work for his neighbors, from creating websites for Linton’s small shops to organizing community projects.

That work includes serving as Program Coordinator for the A.M. Risher Pool renovation, where he helped secure city funding, put the renovation contracts in place, and build a ten-year plan for the pool’s future. Jake is running for mayor because Linton needs active leadership. Not leadership that waits for problems to become emergencies, and not leadership that only reacts. A mayor should be visible, involved, and working alongside residents, city workers, businesses, schools, the hospital, police, fire, churches, and volunteers.

The Standard

Linton Deserves a Working Mayor

Linton doesn’t need a mayor who only sits behind a desk, and it doesn’t need leadership that waits for problems to become emergencies. Linton needs a working mayor who is out in the community doing the job, every single day. That means:

Showing upWalking downtownMeeting with businessesTalking to residentsSupporting city workersWorking with police & fireAttending community eventsPursuing grantsBuilding partnershipsChecking on projectsCommunicating with the publicListening to concernsTaking responsibility

Proven on the Pool

As Program Coordinator for the A.M. Risher Pool renovation, Jake helped win city funding approval, line up the contractors, and build a ten-year plan for the pool’s future. Not talk. Results.

Proven in Business

Jake founded Node 1 Technology right here in Linton and grew it into the Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year before selling it. Today he builds technology companies from the ground up.

Proven for Neighbors

Jake advises small businesses in the community and currently serves in an advisory role on city planning. He donates his time to community projects, has held officer positions in local clubs and organizations, and has successfully written and won grants for the City of Linton.

A working mayor doesn’t just talk about progress. A working mayor works for it.

The Full Picture

Moving Every Part of Linton Forward

Growth is more than storefronts and streets. These priorities protect what makes Linton home: our talent, our schools, our hospital, our young people, and every dollar you send to City Hall.

Showcase Linton’s Talent

Linton is full of musicians, artists, makers, and creators. Bring back events like the Linton Music Festival and give local talent a stage, because every festival visitor eats here, shops here, buys gas here, and sees what Linton has to offer.

Support Our Schools

Strong schools shape whether families stay, move here, or leave. The city should be a real partner: youth programs, internships, job-shadowing, and a pipeline from classroom to career, right here in Linton.

Stand With Our Hospital

Greene County General Hospital means jobs, emergency care, senior services, and family confidence. City Hall should communicate with hospital leadership and treat local healthcare like the major community asset it is.

Keep Our Young People

Too many young people grow up here feeling like they have to leave to succeed. Involve students in city projects, connect them with local businesses, and make Linton a place worth staying for and coming back to.

Watch Every Utility Dollar

No instant-fix promises, just honest work: efficiency reviews, waste and water-loss checks, infrastructure grants, and real transparency about what you’re paying for and why.
